Which Camping Method Is Right For You?

Deciding when and where to go camping can be determined by several factors. Do you want to travel any distance to get someplace that you're interested in or do you need to pick a place closer to where you live? Do you want to be near water like a lake, river or an ocean? Do you want warm sunny weather or do you like it better when conditions are cooler? Once you figure out the answers to these questions, then you can begin to narrow down your other choices.

How Are You Going To Camp?

There are several different ways to camp: You can use an RV, a camper trailer, or a tent. If you use an RV or camper trailer, then you are likely going to want to camp where to can have access to water and electricity. Some people don't call this "real" camping, but of course, that is just a matter of opinion. Tent camping is more rustic and it appeals to lots of folks, but for some it doesn't. When you have the perfect family camping tent, it can make all of the difference in comfort.

Picking A Campground

Once you have determined where you are going for your camping trip and what you will be camping in, you will need to decide what kind of campground, if any, you wish to stay at. Not all campgrounds are created equally to be sure. Some campgrounds only allows RVs or campers and some have spaces for tents too.

Campgrounds that allow tents, sometimes only have a certain number of sites with electrical and water and some can be primitive, which usually means no electric and maybe no water. Also some tent sites might have a grill and picnic table and some won't.

If the campground you are interested in has a website, then look it up and gather all of this information before you make your final decision.

It could be that if you are visiting the campground at peak season, you could need reservations.
